I plan to use this site to post news, commentary, and analysis of current environment and development issues. Of course, I reserve the right to rant about politics now and then.
I thought this article was interesting, but my only question is what happens if you are in the middle? If you are partly conservative and partly liberal are you a little bit of a flip flopper and a little single-minded? i feel that there should be a study for the in between. The article does seem to make logical sense of some nonlogical people.
Politicians will always be a pain in the ........ However, this article did shed an interesting light on some of why they do what they do, ultimately I think it still goes back to their personal decisions and feelings that influence what they represent.
I agree with matt h., that in the end how people vote is based off of personal feelings and how they have been brought up to see different situations. The experiment done in this article seems to have been a good way to distinguish the two sides of the brain and compare that with liberal or conservative but to me the study seems a little bit of a stretch in actually determining whether someone is liberal or conservative. I personally think it is obvious that conservatives are more single-minded and liberals more open-minded...hince the way they vote. -3096, Lindsay Lamb

"Liberals are very open minded until they meet a conservative with whom they disagree."
